Therapeutic and Educational

At Ilkley Yoga Centre, we offer a range of therapeutic and educational programmes designed to support both physical and emotional wellbeing.

Our one-to-one Yoga Therapy sessions provide personalised support, with most clients committing to a course of five sessions. Together, we develop a simple, sustainable daily practice—often just 10 minutes—to help address a specific issue and encourage lasting change.

For those seeking deeper emotional support, Integrative Yoga Psychotherapy offers a one-to-one space that combines talking therapies with a range of therapeutic modalities. This somatic-psychic approach works with both body and mind, helping clients explore and process their experiences in a supportive and holistic way

We also offer specialist courses, including Hypnobirthing for a calm and confident approach to birth, and Yoga for Anxiety—an eight-week course designed to help individuals better understand and manage anxiety through movement, breath, and awareness.

For yoga teachers, our CPD Level 3 training provides the skills and knowledge to confidently teach yoga for anxiety, including how to hold space, structure classes, and support students with care and clarity.

Yoga Therapy

Gillian Liversage is a Yoga Therapist and focuses on supporting individual needs using yoga as medicine. Yoga Therapy is a personalised and collaborative process, giving you practical tools to improve your wellbeing and feel more in control of your health. Before your first session, you’ll complete a confidential health form. In your initial 90-minute appointment, we’ll explore your history alongside your posture, movement and breath to create a tailored practice just for you. This may include yoga postures, breathwork, meditation or mindfulness techniques. You’ll be guided through the practice, followed by a deep relaxation, and leave with a clear understanding of how and why each element supports you. After the session, you’ll receive a personalised plan to continue at home, with follow-up sessions (60 minutes) to review and adapt your practice as needed.

Yoga Therapy can support a wide range of conditions, including back and joint pain, fibromyalgia, digestive issues, anxiety, stress, insomnia, menopause symptoms, and chronic fatigue, as well as offering support alongside medical or alternative treatments. It’s suitable for everyone, even if you’ve never practised yoga before. Each session is one-to-one and designed entirely around you, taking into account both physical and emotional wellbeing. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, Yoga Therapy meets you where you are—helping you find relief, restore balance, and build a sustainable practice that supports your everyday life.

Hypnobirthing

Join our Hypnobirthing course in Ilkley, available both in-studio and online, and prepare for birth in a calm, positive and informed way. At Ilkley Yoga Centre, the KGH Hypnobirthing course offers a practical and supportive approach to childbirth, helping you feel relaxed, confident and ready to welcome your baby. Suitable for both first-time parents and those with previous birth experience, the course can be attended in person or live via Zoom, making it accessible wherever you are.

Hypnobirthing is a complete antenatal education programme that combines relaxation, breathing techniques and birth knowledge to help you work with your body and mind during labour. Whether you’re planning a natural birth, hospital birth or caesarean, it supports you in understanding the birth process, reducing fear, involving your birth partner, and making informed decisions about your care—so you can feel empowered, whatever your birth journey looks like.
